Class A – Minimum training of FF1 or equivalent (Essentials of Firemanship, Initial Attack, Haz-Mat First Responders Operations OR Basic Firefighter, Intermediate Firefighter, Haz-Mat First Responders Operations)

Class B – Those members that are SCBA certified, but do not presently meet the minimum training requirements, or are under age and cannot operate as a Class A firefighter.

Class C – Those members that are not SCBA certified or do not presently meet the training requirements for Classifications A or B but whom have skills to provide scene support in an emergency. (Ex. experienced members, drivers, EMS, Fire Police, etc.)

Class D – May not serve on the fireground due to a lack of a FF physical, medical reason or otherwise not shown. Active firefighter. No turn-out gear issued to Class D firefighters.

 

Non-Certified Positions –

Fire Police = FP, Junior Firefighter = JFF, Rapid Intervention Team = RIT

Certified Positions –

Firefighter I = FF1, Firefighter 2 = FF2, Fire Investigator I = INV1, Fire Instructor I = INS1, Fire Instructor II = INS2, Emergency Medical Technician = EMT, Certified First Responder = CFR, Fire Critical Care Tech = CCT, Fire Officer I = FOI, Fire Officer II = FO2
